Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello: Collaboration Confirmed, But Are They A Couple???

 

Over the past two weeks, it has been confirmed two popular artists will be collaborating on a single together! The artists consist of Canadian born singer Shawn Mendes, who has a #1 selling debut album, 2 platinum singles and 1 gold single in America. The other artist is Cuban born singer Camila Cabello, who is a part of one of the most popular girl groups as of right now: Fifth Harmony. Fifth Harmony have one multi-platinum single, 2 platinum singles and one gold single in America.


Both of these singers are very familiar with each other and have grown to be good friends the past two years. From being opening acts for Austin Mahone's self-titled tour, they must have spent a lot of those days hanging out and getting to know each other while touring. Near the end 2014, it was announced that Camila and Austin Mahone broke up. Camila's relationship status was then questioned going into 2015 and throughout this year, there were many rumours sparked around Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello potentially dating! After the Mendes Army and the harmonizers saw pictures of the two singers together in the past few months, speculations only escalated. Both artists denied dating and admitted they were both "really good friends".

Although a potential relationship between the artists wasn't confirmed, a collaboration was confirmed! Shawn announced that he would be making an extended edition of his Handwritten album. The duet between Shawn and Camila will be featured on the relaunch of Shawn Mendes' album and is titled 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'. Apparently, the two of them were just jamming out backstage at one of Taylor Swift's concert. With a guitar and their musically-gifted voices, tah-dah! The single was born! Both of them wanted to explore the single more and headed to the recording studios to test it out. The Mendes Army and harmonizers continue to sit on the edge of their seats as they count down the days to the release of the single. Both artists have been teasing the single, posting snippets of the song and video-teasers of the music video for everyone to get a sneak peek.

The single will be released on November 18th, 2015 and it has been reported that since both artists will be performing at the Jingle Ball this year, they will perform this song together at the event as well.
