Who doesn't love 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'? This single has got the Mendes Army and Harmonizers going crazy, creating buzz all around the music industry. In order to make this collaboration a success, both Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello need to do a lot of promoting to make this song a hit. And it seems as though that is what they are up to, going to several radio stations to attend interviews and perform the single live on talk shows. In one of the upcoming Jingle Balls this year, both Fifth Harmony and Shawn Mendes will be present. Cabello and Mendes both confirmed they would perform the single at the Jingle Ball they were both attending, because.... well, why not? Here's an update of what has happened so far!So at the end of October and the early weeks this November, both singers began to tease their collaboration! After several sneak peeks to build up for the release of the single(which you can check out here from one of my early posts: Sneak Peeks), the collaborative single was released November 18th, 2015. The single peaked all the way to the Top 10 and jumped from all different kinds of spots ranging from #1 to 10. Sadly, due to the release of One Direction, Adele and Justin Bieber's albums, the single dropped down to the Top 20s and 30s because of the several array of songs those artists have released.
Two days later, upon the release of Mendes' reissued album launch called Handwritten Revisited, containing the newest collaboration with Cabello, Shawn Mendes visited Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on their talk show Live! with Kelly & Michael to talk about his album relaunch and his latest single with Cabello. To everyone's entertainment, both artists met up on the set of the show to perform their single for the first time live! They did really well and both proved how talented they are as artists! On the very same day of their first live performance of the single, Mendes and Cabello released the world premiere of their music video on YouTube. The music video is very dark, emotional and really dramatic. The one thing I don't understand is why they were on treadmills or some kind of conveyor belt when they were walking towards each other........ Check out the music video below to see for yourself!
On November 24th, both artists appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to promote their single once again. It was kind of awkward because James was trying to get an answer out of them to confirm a relationship, but the two kept denying it haha. Well well, I guess we'll have in the next couple of months if they will get together or not for you 'Shamila' fans..... or 'Shawmila', whatever their ship name is.......
