'I Know What You Did Last Summer' is on a roll, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello promoting the single for the upcoming weeks!

Who doesn't love 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'? This single has got the Mendes Army and Harmonizers going crazy, creating buzz all around the music industry. In order to make this collaboration a success, both Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello need to do a lot of promoting to make this song a hit. And it seems as though that is what they are up to, going to several radio stations to attend interviews and perform the single live on talk shows. In one of the upcoming Jingle Balls this year, both Fifth Harmony and Shawn Mendes will be present. Cabello and Mendes both confirmed they would perform the single at the Jingle Ball they were both attending, because.... well, why not? Here's an update of what has happened so far!

So at the end of October and the early weeks this November, both singers began to tease their collaboration! After several sneak peeks to build up for the release of the single(which you can check out here from one of my early posts: Sneak Peeks), the collaborative single was released November 18th, 2015. The single peaked all the way to the Top 10 and jumped from all different kinds of spots ranging from #1 to 10. Sadly, due to the release of One Direction, Adele and Justin Bieber's albums, the single dropped down to the Top 20s and 30s because of the several array of songs those artists have released.

Reasons why Fifth Harmony will be honoured as "Group of the Year" at Billboard Women in Music

  • Their music is fierce and sassy, embracing their own sexuality and being confident in their-selves

Fifth Harmony  released their debut album Reflection worldwide in early 2015 and in the U.K. in the summer this year. Their album includes many female empowerment tracks such as BO$$, Worth It, Reflection and Suga Mama. Other inspiring tracks for all individuals includes This Is How We Roll and 'Brave Honest Beautiful'. Throughout all of their songs, Fifth Harmony encourages their harmonizers and all individuals to not shy away from who they are. The girls make the most out of their songs by making their tracks realistic and relatable. Relating to the double standards for women in the world, wanting or looking for love, hanging out with friends or standing up for yourself, all of these topics are thoroughly covered in their full-length debut album. Give it a listen if you haven't already and check out the music video of BO$$ to see their empowering minds at work.

  • Fifth Harmony supports feminism and empower all youth and individuals to be themselves

When it comes to their fans the harmonizers, Fifth Harmony cares deeply about them and all their supporters. This can be demonstrated through their partnership with Do Something in 2014. In collaboration with the release of their single BO$$, Fifth Harmony and Do Something instilled confidence into individuals to give them the opportunity to own up to their unique qualities which make them who they are. They wanted individuals to share to the world what makes them confident and strong. Fifth Harmony's work to support their fans and individuals around them was continued this year when they were announced as ambassadors for the Cybersmile Foundation. By becoming a part of Cybersmile, they show their support of anti-cyberbullying initiatives and help victims who are facing bullying online.
Fifth harmony cares deeply about their fans and among some of the most kindest celebrities who continue to show love to their beloved fans.

  • Fifth Harmony were the first girl group to reach the Top 15 in the Billboard Hot 100 with their song Worth It since the Pussycat Dolls in 2009 (with their single Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny))
Fifth Harmony continued to grow increasingly popular in early 2015, but it wasn't until the official release of their single Worth It in March 2015 is when they became international pop stars. Fifth Harmony began to chart in international charts they have never reached before and all harmonizers were amazed at the girls' success. By June 2015, Worth It has surpassed their previous singles' peaks on the Billboard Hot 100 and accumulated to the Top 15 at #12! As said above, a girl group hasn't reached the top 15 since 2009! This was a breakthrough for this generation of girl groups. This keeps us wondering, will popular girl groups like 5H and Little Mix continue to further the success of girl groups in this new generation of girl groups?

  • Fifth Harmony have been certified one multi-platinum single and two platinum singles in one year
Fifth Harmony faces a rare occasion in the music industry where they received four certifications in just one year! Worth It, BO$$ and Sledgehammer were all certified platinum in June 2015. It only took two months for Worth It to accumulate another million copies sold to be certified multi-platinum! During that time in August 2015, they were only one of seven artists to be certified multi-platinum in America in 2015. Of course that will change as other artists' singles become popular as well and have the opportunity to achieve multi-platinum as well, but WOW! They will probably be the only girl group this year to achieve multi-platinum in America.

  • They have a 4x Vevo Certification for over 400 million views of their music video for Worth It.
With their music video released at the end of March 2015, Fifth Harmony took the world by storm with their empowering music. With over 400 million views in just 7 and a half months, their music video became the most-watched music video from any girl group in the world! This beats out several K-Pop and J-Pop girl groups as well!

These are all my reasons on why Fifth Harmony are being honoured as "Group of the Year". If you have any other suggestions for reasons why they are being honoured, please let me know and I'll add it!

#PrayforParis, #PrayfortheWorld

It is truly a tragedy. What happened on Friday, November 13th, 2015, will not be forgotten. As I further my knowledge on what has happened in the event, I'm whelming up with tears. Imagining if I were in the Paris civilians' perspective and positions, I would be traumatized for life. It's completely devastating to learn how we humans cannot learn to walk this earth together. To breathe the same air, to live in the same world, why must problems be encountered with violence? Why must people be so cruel and inhumane towards innocent citizens? All of those citizens were living life to the fullest. Hanging out on a lovely Friday evening, enjoying a glass of beer with friends, dining out with acquaintances and rocking out to their favourite rock band, all of those innocent civilians were just enjoying their lives. Why must they be punished, simply because others weren't happy with their lives?

Not only was Paris struck with a catastrophe, but many other places in the world also face a tragedy. With Japan affected by an earthquake and bombings terrorize Lebanon, it is clear that the generation and decade we are living in has not changed from the past. There are many more places in the world that I have yet to mention, only because I need to further my knowledge on these current tragedies. Although I may not know as much I should right now, I want to encourage you to keep up on the current events. You may not live in the current tragedy some unfortunate civilians are facing, we all live in the same world. We cannot think that we are still safe with terrorism and natural disasters continuing to overtake humanity. Further your knowledge on these current tragedies and help support those who are struggling. #PrayforParis #PrayfortheWorld

Fifth Harmony were in Europe for a short amount of time at the end of October and the beginning of November. They were lucky to have timed their stay in Europe correctly, because they would have been in danger due to their concert in Paris, France on November 9th, 2015. Had they performed on November 13th, who knows if the girls and their devoted harmonizers would have faced the same fate as the rock band Eagles of Death Metal and their fans had encountered.

Celebrities all over the world, like Fifth Harmony, are showing their support to Paris and other countries currently living in devastation. Show your support. We are all the same people and in order to get through life, we must stick together and face tragedies and catastrophic events as we stand together.
